Mize Farm and Garden is making a strong effort to "Go Green". We thought recycling the industry's plastics would be a great start. Mize wants to pick up your used plastics to be recycled instead of thrown to waste. This can also save our customers time and effort in dumping the plastics themselves. With this effort, Mize and our customers can support the recycling and "Green" efforts of today!
Collection
We are collecting PS, PP, and HDPE
Excess growing media should be removed
- Soil and other debris should be dumped from containers
- Paper and other foreign materials should be removed
Material must be separated by type
- Polystyrene: labeled with #6
- Polypropylene: labeled with #5
- High Density Polyethylene: labeled with #2
- No agricultural or greenhouse film at current time
Material must be palletized or baled
- Like containers can be nested together and palletized
- Pallets should be stacked 90-100" tall
- Like materials can be separated and baled
- The heavier the bale the better
Contact sales rep or office to arrange pick up.
Pick ups can be coincided with deliveries to make it easy.
Note the recycle number when separating plastics.
Because of delivery volume throughout the year, the best time for us to pickup material would be the summer months (June, July, August). Special pick up times can be easily arranged.
